School Uniform

At Salisbury Manor Primary School, we are proud of our school uniform. Wearing uniform helps children feel part of our school community and promotes a sense of belonging and pride.

All children are expected to attend school wearing the correct uniform each day.

Everyday School Uniform

Children should wear:

White polo shirt or white shirt (with or without the school logo)
Blue jumper or cardigan (with or without the school logo)
Black or grey trousers, shorts, skirt, or pinafore
Grey dress or blue gingham/check dress (summer option)
Black shoes or plain black trainers

PE Kit

Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on their designated PE days. PE kit consists of:

Plain white T-shirt
Black jogging bottoms or black leggings
Black zip hoodie
Black trainers

Footwear

Children should wear:

Black school shoes, or
Plain black trainers

Please avoid brightly coloured logos, patterns, or fashion trainers.

Jewellery and Watches

For health and safety reasons:

Only small silver stud earrings may be worn.
No other jewellery is permitted.
Parents wishing their child to wear a specific item of jewellery for religious or cultural reasons must contact the school in writing.
Children may wear a simple watch, but smart watches and other wearable devices are not allowed.

If Your Child Forgets or does not have the correct uniform

If a child arrives at school without the correct uniform, staff will speak with the child and parent/carer and, where possible, provide suitable spare uniform from school for the day.

If incorrect uniform becomes a regular issue, we will contact parents/carers to discuss how we can support them in ensuring their child is dressed appropriately for school.

If a child forgets their PE kit, parents/carers will be reminded of PE days and asked to ensure the correct kit is available.

Purchasing Uniform

School logo items are available to purchase from our uniform supplier; however, logo items are optional. Families may purchase plain items in the correct school colours from any retailer.

Please ensure all clothing, shoes, coats, PE kits, water bottles and lunch boxes are clearly labelled with your child's name.

Our school champions the right of staff and students to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black staff and students’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance.

We welcome Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps.

At this school, we recognise and celebrate our staff and students’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on anyone’s ability to succeed.
